CHANGES AT UNITING CHURCH STUDIES
2026-09-24
Readers of the journal will be well aware that the June issue is well overdue for publication. I am pleased to report that it is in the final stages of production and will likely appear on the website next week.
Throughout this year, most of the work undertaken by those involved in the oversight and production of the journal has been focused on putting in place some new structures and procedures of oversight. The previous Editorial Advisory Committee has been replaced by a Management Committee and and Editorial Panel. This reflects the distinct administrative and academic tasks required to maintain the journal. Both the Committee and the Panel are appointed by the Faculty of United Theological College. There is some continuity in the personnel, but various newcomers, from a range of contexts, have been appointed to the two bodies, bringing an even wider range of expertise to the journal. In coming weeks, the relevant sections of this website will be updated with the details of the composition of the two committees.
Suffice to say for now, however, the Chair of both the Commmittee and the Panel is Dr Deidre Palmer, a well known theological educator and a former President of the National Assembly. It is great to have Deidre in this role.
